PHILOSOPHY
When I first began shooting boudoir I was completely blown away. I knew boudoir was an intimate and exciting experience, but I never realized how important it could be in a woman’s life. New mothers, soon-to-be wives, girlfriends, and newly single women were coming to me in search of a rewarding and exciting experience. A few hours of pampering became worth more than a trip to the spa--it was less of a cosmetic experience and more of a journey of self discovery. With this in mind I re-invented the way I looked at each session, realizing that what I brought to each session was more than just great photos. Every woman deserves to feel like a model for a day, so I began approaching sessions with an editorial eye. I decided to make an experience focused more on beautiful images with great lighting, over set styling and frills. I wanted to create an experience where women are guided through a session that allows them to feel comfortable letting loose.
THE FULL EXPERIENCE
Oscar Wilde once said “to love oneself is the beginning of a lifelong romance”. With this thought in mind, each session begins with discussing your favorite things about yourself. These are the things I then emphasize in my shooting.
We select your wardrobe together on the day, talking about what you feel flatters you the most and what beautiful accessories we can add to elevate the look. From there it’s all about laughing, enjoying, and creating amazing images.
My focus through the shoot is to guide you into poses that are natural for you. I believe it's the little, every day things that make a woman sexy...whether that's a giggle, a shy smile, or an arched eyebrow. You’ll often hear me say that a boudoir shoot is a little like a guided yoga class; it’s a lot of stretching and slow movements that culminate into a pose that feels right.
